The terms "optimistic rollups" and "zero-knowledge rollups" can be split into two parts:
1. Rollup - the data availability model used (i.e. minimum viable data required to reconstruct the latest finalized state published to the underlying base layer) and
2. Optimistic/ /1

The L2 competitive landscape is reaching a boiling point.
Hard to see a world where web3 doesn't grow to global ubiquity.
Hard to see a world where L2s aren't v competitive with alt L1s/app chains.
Hard to see a world where thriving L2s don't accrue significant value to ETH.

Arbitrum & Optimism both have grown to the same DeFi TVL as Solana (also 70% of Avalanche).
Alt L1s will have to do a really good job to compete with L2s.

Activity on @arbitrum & @optimismFND trending up. At ~500k daily txs, closing on 50% of Ethereum mainnet.
Will take a bit more time, but there'll be an inflection point with app parity to L1 where most users are on L2.
